PPSH-41 to Suomi KP/-31

Post by samurai »

Why not to change PPSH name into Suomi KP/-31. Designs are pretty same and why not to promote server home land.

PPSh is a rip off from suomikonepistooli. After they found out it is very good weapon in the woods and in close range. However, the PPSh has a shorter barrel.

Nope. It is a sub machine gun. An intended light weight version of a machine gun that doesn't need to be mounted and can be operated by a single person. Also, the direct translation would be finnish machine pistol.

Here this:
The PPSh-41 (Pistolet-Pulemyot Shpagina; Russian: Пистолет-пулемёт Шпагина; "Shpagin machine pistol") was a Soviet submachine gun designed by Georgi Shpagin as an inexpensive, simplified alternative to the PPD-40
See PPD-40:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPD-40

Here this:
Developed in the Soviet Union by arms designer Vasily Degtyaryov, it was a near direct copy of the German Bergmann MP 28. The PPD was designed to chamber the new Soviet 7.62x25mm Tokarev pistol cartridge, which was based on the similar 7.63x25mm Mauser cartridge used in the Mauser C96 pistol. The PPD utilized a large ammunition drum, a copy of the Finnish M31 Suomi drum magazine as well as a more conventional 25-round box-type magazine.
In fact, from the Suomi was used only to store the internal structure very different. :)
