What to do with the etpro server?

Post by gaoesa »

Please at least vote on this topic but even better make discussion. The motivation for this vote is that the server is not used for anything currently. I know 3-4 players who sometimes visit there.

Please note that different settings can be and hopefully will be discussed also. Including the slot counts.

Not a bad idea with trickjump server. Though, the etpro server already has votable trickjump config available with 500 adrenaliness included with /load and /save commands. So there wouldn't be any necessity to change the server at all. Probably add maps and maybe shutting the tzac in the tjconfig.

There is also Tremulous:

It's quite interesting, it's the combination of FPS and RTS.

Well,
If there is going to be another Silent server. Then I would like to propose that you change this ridiculous damage system to normal for that other server.
I'm really sick of shooting 2 clips to get a single kill. Even if ET is a bit of a Arcade shooting comparing to new games, that Silent damage system is totally
bogus and really shatters every bit of enjoyment. Only positive thing is that it has managed to rise my frustration level up to new records.

The damage system only gives less damage for bad aim. Even on worst, meaning you hit only legs, you make 7 hp damage on each shot. 60 bullets is pretty bad. There are no indications it would destroy enjoyment. The damages are the same for both players and haven't seen people making their kills with an unusual time. Hitting the torso or the head will give full damages. With that said, using the tighter hitboxes would better suite with equal damage for all non head hits.
