How to add colours to text

Post by Penderi »

1. Buttons needed for colours.

All text in the game can be coloured. Mostly colours are used to make your name stand out, but colours can be used with text binds too.

To use colours in text you must first use this symbol ^
This symbol tells the game, that the next letter that is used, will be a colour code.

To type the symbol ^, you need to push SHIFT and ^ (Note: ^ symbol will not show up at the first time you push the button.)

You will find the buttons in this picture:

2. Selecting the colours.

To view the selection of colours follow this link: http://web.kaist.ac.kr/~dfanta/color.html

You will come to a website that looks like this:

There you can test all of the colourselection that are available in Enemy Territory.

As you probably noticed, you type the text in textfield and the result will be shown underneath the textfield (circled with yellow).

Type what you want your name to be. Example: ^4ET^1player then click enter = ETplayer.

Note: you must use the ^ symbol before each letter/character.

3. Setting the coloured name

Now connect to Himalia Enemy Territory server and open up the console by pushing the § button (circled button)

Type in the console: /seta name ^4ET^1player (or whatever name and colours you choose)
Then click enter.
Now your name in-game will be: ETplayer

You can also type your name in to the game menu.
