Awaiting connection all the time

Can't connect to the server. I can see people playing on the server web page, however I can't connect and I am left in the "awaiting connection" screen for hours.
Something wrong with the server?

The IP is resolved properly:

Code: Select all

himalia.fi:27960 resolved to 178.162.196.136:27960
Checking with tracepath now, maybe that will give me some clue.

EDIT1:
Tracepath output is interesting:

Code: Select all

13: 178.162.223.131 38.312ms asymm 15

After this: 178.162.223.131
there is no reply. Looks like something on the network. The IP looks similar to the server IP, so something close.

Indeed. That IP is close. I don't have it though. My trace doesn't go through it.

EDIT:
dammit. So many wrong IP addresses. So, works as expected for me. Ignore previous "EDIT"s if you have seen them. Wrong IP.

I have checked, there is nothing that would prevent connections on the server. No such firewall rule and no such et server setting. However, you should be able to ping the server normally.

Yes, I am able to ping the server.

Maybe you have the ET client messed? There are nothing mentioned in the logs with your name trying to connect. I almost forgot. The forum is at the same address too. So would be weird if it was network error.

Last time you appear in the log is 2014-03-31. That is also the last time anyone with Linux client has connected.

Some tracepath issue. Still cannot connect to the server though.

Huh, my router, had to restart it. Why haven't I done that at first?
Works now.

Good that it solved there. It would have been hard to track down from server since nothing looked wrong there.
