After helping QueenMary to install ET again I noticed that all the work needed to make the game running with pure 2.60b server is a little bit too excessive for less experienced. I have decided to install the 2.55+ server binary. This is basically the same as 2.60b, but it also allows old clients (2.55) to connect because the server binary has been tweaked to support that protocol. The biggest benefit is that players can connect and then, after played some, update their clients to the newest versions while getting help from players on the server.
This is a very common server side binary across many servers and it is supplied by equalone at http://equalone.hn.vc/index.php?index=0

The only drawback is that the server is no longer visible on the 2.60b client masterlist.

There was a problem with server having packs that 2.55 clients cant download. This issue is now fixed.
